Søknadssammendrag

The Belanoda project aims at establishing a long-term collaboration between the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, the Belarusian State University, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and other potential Eurasian partners. The collaboration focuses on the MSc and PhD education in Data Sciences for Life Sciences. In order to reach this goal, a multidisciplinary course in data sciences for life sciences will be developed. The course will be organized as a cross-institutional course based on video and e-learning with the perspective that the course can be continued after the project period and thus form the basis for a sustainable collaboration beyond the project period. The course will be developed as integrated part of existing and future studies within Data Sciences at the partner institutions. For this course, modern course materials based on e-learning and educational videos will be established during the project period. The collaboration will be formalized by co-tutorships for Master and PhD theses and further strengthened by exchange of PhD students and Master students. In order to guarantee a tight collaboration during the whole project period, the project partners will meet biannually for workshops. Job fairs will be established in Belarus in order to increase the attractiveness of the study programs and to understand the need of the industry in Eurasian countries. A network of Eurasian institutions working in the field of data sciences for life sciences will be initiated and the first Eurasian conference in data sciences for life sciences will be organized.
